Amazon will continue to make life harder for retail competitors. But so will Walmart, which is waging a full-on assault on the longtime online heavyweight.
Good luck to retailers trying to avoid becoming collateral damage in the battle between these two titans, who have the wherewithal to wage a destructive fight for market share online and more specifically for groceries.
Walmart’s curbside pickup appears to be making a dent in Amazon’s e-commerce dominance. But in 2018, Amazon will sharpen its grocery strategy and clarify why it spent $13.7 billion in 2017 to buy Austin-based Whole Foods.
