A 19-year-old man was transported to an area hospital Monday afternoon with non-life threatening injuries after he was stabbed in a Walmart in Glen Burnie, Anne Arundel Police said.
According to a news release, officers responded to the Walmart store on Chesapeake Center Drive at approximately 4:45 p.m. following reports of a stabbing. Preliminary investigation revealed that a fight between three men, including the victim, had occurred when an “associated” woman stabbed the man.
Pfc. Deonna Diggs, a department spokesperson, said police were not sure what started the fight. Witnesses told authorities that the suspect and the victim saw each other, engaged first in a verbal confrontation that then escalated to a physical fight.
Three suspects, two women and a man, fled the scene in a red sedan, police said, without any confirmation of its make or model.
Northern District detectives are investigating the stabbing and ask that anyone with information call 410-222-6135 or leave an anonymous tip at 410-222-4700.
