Tampa Walmart closed after altercation, police say - Tampa Bay Times

One man was injured and another arrested in an altercation that closed the Walmart at 1505 N. Dale Mabry Hwy. on Saturday afternoon, according to Tampa police.

The fight happened shortly after 1:30 p.m. inside the store, officers said. One man cut another with a knife during an argument, police said. The man who was injured was taken to a hospital with serious injuries but is expected to survive, authorities said. They did not publicly identify him or the man who was arrested.

Confused customers pulling up to the store about 2:45 p.m. Saturday found an entrance blocked by yellow tape. It was not immediately clear when the store would reopen.

A police spokesperson did not provide further information about what led to the argument or what charges the man who was arrested could face.

Times staff writer Luis Santana contributed to this report.
