Screaming man swings samurai sword around in Vancouver traffic, Walmart evacuated - KATU

VANCOUVER, Wash. — A man was arrested in SE Vancouver after walking through traffic swinging a samurai sword and screaming, says the Vancouver Police Department.

On February 4 multiple 911 callers reported a man armed with a samurai sword was walking in traffic at the 400 block of SE 192nd Ave.

Police say the man continued toward a Walmart parking lot and was "screaming and threatening to hurt people." The man entered the Walmart just before police arrived

Officers immediately began evacuating the Walmart and quickly located the man. Police say the suspect then surrendered. There were no injuries during the incident.

Aside from the samurai sword, the suspect also had a 5-inch knife in his pocket.

Ravi Saxena,43, has been charged with Felony Harassment, Dangerous Weapon, and Displaying a Weapon.
