Garner police are investigating a shooting Tuesday afternoon that has left one person dead and another in custody.
According to police, an altercation occurred after 6 p.m. in the parking lot of the Walmart located at 4500 Fayetteville Road.
The altercation led to the shooting that took place near handicapped parking spaces.
The victim was taken to the hospital, where they later died.
Police say this was an isolated incident and no threat to the community.
An investigation is underway.
