RIO GRANDE CITY, Texas (ValleyCentral) — A man was arrested for smashing 19 display TVs at a Walmart with a baseball bat, authorities said.
Ezequiel Mendoza III was charged with criminal mischief, according to a Rio Grande City Police Department incident report.
On Monday, police responded to a call about a man damaging TVs at a Walmart, located at the 4500 block of E US Highway 83.
At the scene, responding officers saw several display TVs damaged and placed the suspect, later identified as Mendoza, in custody, according to the complaint.
The store manager showed the police video footage of Mendoza using a baseball bat he grabbed from the store and hitting 19 display TVs with it.
The damaged items totaled $7,178.
Mendoza was booked into the Starr County Detention Center.
