Driver crashes car through Walmart Wine & Spirits entrance in Middletown - WHAS11.com

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — SWAT and police officers were called were outside a shopping center in Middletown Monday morning after someone drove a car through a Walmart, according to an LMPD news release.

Early in the morning, Louisville Metro Police responded to assist Middletown Police Department on a barricaded person inside a car that had drove through the front entrance of the Wine & Spirits at the Walmart on Shelbyville Road.

Officers on scene made contact with the person who drove into the Walmart who refused to exit the vehicle before putting it in reverse and attempting to drive out.

The LMPD SWAT/HNT units were able to successfully get the person out of the vehicle without incident.

Middletown Police Department is handling this investigation.
