$1M bond set for man charged in fatal Elyria Walmart parking lot shooting - Cleveland 19 News

ELYRIA, Ohio (WOIO) - The 19-year-old man charged in connection to last week’s fatal shooting in the Elyria Walmart parking lot has been given a $1 million bond.

Police responded to the Walmart, located at 1000 Chestnut Commons, at 4:54 p.m. on Nov. 2 after receiving a 911 call that a man had been shot in the parking lot.

Police confirmed the 21-year-old, identified as Nicholas Tubbs, of Grafton, was transported to University Hospitals and died early Friday morning.

EPD said they arrested 19-year-old Roosevelt Benton, of Oberlin at his home Friday after issuing a warrant for his arrest for felonious assault.

Benton received a charge of murder Monday and was given a bond of $1 million, on top of the felonious assault charge he received Friday.
