ESCANABA, MI – A Walmart in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula closed overnight after a suspect attacked the store with hammers, WLUC reports.
Officers with the Escanaba Department of Public Safety were called to the Escanaba Walmart store around 4 p.m. Friday, April 14, for a report of a suspect smashing store property with hammers, the report said. The suspect reportedly smashed jewelry cases in the store.
After the incident, the store closed until 6 a.m. Saturday, April 15, due to “unforeseen circumstances,” the store said on Facebook.
No one was injured during the incident, the report said. The suspect was taken into police custody. Charges are pending prosecutor review.
