Saying goodbye to 2018 and hello to 2019 and forgot something you need for your big event? Don’t worry – Walmart is open New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

Walmart stores that are open 24-hours a day will be open regular store hours on New Year’s Eve (Dec. 31) and New Year’s Day (Jan. 1). Other stores will be open regular hours, typically 6 a.m.- midnight, though operations may vary store by store, so check ahead.

Pharmacy, banking and other specialty services will have varied hours as well.

Shoppers can expect heavy discounts on remaining holiday items and lower prices on party goods and foods for those ready to ring in the new year.

Walmart is extending its policies to make holiday returns easier.

Some orders placed between Oct. 28, 2018 and Dec. 25, 2018 will have an extended return timeframe allow them to be returned later, making it easier to swap an unwanted gift.

Items with a 15 to 30 day return window, the time has been extended so that the clock doesn’t start ticking until Dec. 26. The new return date for items with a 15-day return window is Jan. 10, 2019; the deadline for 30-day returns is Jan. 25, 2019. There is no change for items with 90 day return deadlines.
