2018 was quite an interesting year no matter which way you spin it.
Through all the ups, downs, scandals and breakthroughs one thing remained the same across all demographics -- there was no shortage of online shopping.
Walmart, which has staked its claim as a major player in the e-commerce space, was a tried and true online retail destination for the basics (think groceries, household essentials, etc.)
But when you break it down state by state, the top items purchased through the retail behemoth might come as quite a surprise.
For eight states all the way from the midwest to the East Coast, crayons were the most popular item of the year -- but for five other states, paper towels were the preferred purchase.
