Walmart is closing three store locations in Louisville next month due to "poor performance," according to a company spokesman.
The three stores closing are:
- Walmart Supercenter, 1915 S. Hurstbourne Parkway
- Walmart Neighborhood Market, 3101 Poplar Level Road
- Walmart Neighborhood Market, 201 Blankenbaker Parkway
They will close by Aug. 10, according to spokeswoman Anne Hatfield.
“The decision to close stores is not an easy one, but, as a company, we are committed to continuing our growth and investment in Kentucky," Hatfield said in a statement. "We look forward to continuing to serve them at our other Louisville area locations and online at walmart.com.”
The Supercenter at 1915 S. Hurstbourne Parkway opened in 1988. The neighborhood markets on Poplar Level Road and Blankenbaker opened in 2007.

There are 385 Walmart associates who will be affected by the changes at all three locations, Hatfield told the Courier Journal. She said she hopes many of the employees can transfer to Louisville's other locations.
Walmart pharmacists will work with customers to make sure their prescriptions are transferred to another location.
