If you're one of those people who put their holiday shopping off until the last minute - or maybe you just enjoy being out among the holiday hubbub - you can count on late-night shopping at the nation's largest retailer.
Most Walmart stores will be open regular hours leading up to Christmas Eve before closing at 6 p.m. on Dec. 24. Walmart will be closed Dec. 25. Stores will re-open at 6 a.m. on Dec. 26.
Shoppers who place online orders by Dec. 23 at 4 p.m. are guaranteed in-store pickup by 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve. There's no extra charge for in-store pickup.
"We started the season by promising more - more assortment, more savings, more convenience and more fun. We know the vast majority of our customers are still shopping and there is no more important time to deliver on our promise than the final days before Christmas," said Steve Bratspies, chief merchandising officer, Walmart U.S.
The in-store pickup option is increasingly popular, according to the company. Walmart officials said Walmart saw demand for Pickup Today orders double during the last two weeks of the holiday season.
Walmart's Holiday Helpers - associates dedicated to assisting customers - will also be on hand to help shoppers with their last-minute items. Holiday Helpers can be easily spotted wearing festive reindeer hats and will provide support in Pickup and popular departments, like toys and electronics. They will continue to assist customers in the front of the store at checkout.
