Google’s virtual assistant is popular, capable and widely available. Google Assistant is on so many Android smartphones that if you’re new to smart home gadgets, the familiarity of Google’s system is a great way to ease in to using Google Home, Google Home Mini, or the other speakers and gadgets which are compatible.

The first thing you need, to enter this marvellous world where Google can tell you the time in Peru (or anywhere, else, obviously), switch on your Nest heating, tell you when your next appointment is, diagnose your symptoms when you’re feeling under the weather and much more, is to choose which Google device you want.

Google Home is the full-size speaker that looks like a flower vase with a sloping top, which is where the telltale Google lights reside. Google Home is reduced in price at Walmart (you can buy it here) for Cyber Monday from its regular price of $129 to $79, saving $50. You can have this price now, by the way. Google Home can also be bought direct from Google for the same $79 price - here's the link for that.

Best Buy has a roughly similar price for Google Home – 99c more than Walmart at $79.99. If you don't’ mind the extra dollar, then you’ll find it here.

The Home Mini is a cute little puck of a gadget, with a woven top and those lights inside. It's available in three colors, Chalk, Charcoal and Coral, the last of which is only available if you buy direct from Google. Here's the link to do that. As well as the extra color, Google has a special extra, a $10 coupon which can be used towards other Google home and entertainment products like Chromecast and Nest.

Google’s smaller model, the Home Mini has already sold out at Walmart, but Best Buy still has stock, at $29.99, in both chalk and charcoal versions. That's a saving of $19.01 off the regular $49 price. Oh, and that price includes a $10 Best Buy E-Gift card, too. Which really makes this a great buy.

B&H Photo Video also has a similar offer, where buying the Google Home Mini for $29, already 99c cheaper than Best Buy, you’ll receive a free B&H Photo Video e-gift card. You can check out that deal here.

Staples also has the Google Home Mini, for $29 (also 99c less than Best Buy) but no gift card. The charcoal version is available in store, but not for delivery. This offer is while stocks last, of course, but if they do then it's available until the end of December.

This is Google’s TV gizmo which plugs into the HDMI socket on the back of your TV and lets you stream, or in Google’s words, cast, stuff from the gadget to your screen. This means you can watch Netflix, YouTube or HBO Now as well as watching what’s on your laptop screen on your TV. If you have Google Home or Google Home Mini as well, then you can control the Chromecast with your voice, saying stuff like, ‘Ok Google, play Stranger Things from Netflix on my living room TV.’

It usually costs $35 but is currently reduced by $15.01 to $19.99 at Best Buy (here’s the link).

Walmart has it, too, for just 1c more. It’s out of stock for online orders but is available for instore pickup. Read the details here.

And Google has it for the same price as Walmart, $20, in all three colors, Black, Lemonade and Coral. Note, though, that the Lemonade version will ship in 4-5 weeks and Coral won't arrive until January. Here's the link.

This is the router replacement system from Google, promising whole-home coverage. It’s pretty good. And it’s reduced by $30 from $129 to $99 at Walmart, and you can buy it here. If you need multiple of the little gizmos to reach everywhere, you can buy the three-model version for $249, that’s $50 off the usual $299 price. Here's the link for the bigger system.
