2 on the run after trying to steal $4K in Walmart merchandise

BIG RAPIDS TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Authorities in Mecosta County are searching for a man and woman who attempted to steal more than $4,000 in merchandise from a Walmart store.
According to a news release from the Mecosta County Sheriff's Office, deputies were dispatched to the Walmart located on Perry Street in Big Rapids Township Friday evening, around 8 p.m.
Employees reported a retail fraud in progress, however, while deputies were in route to the store the two suspects — a man and woman — fled the area in a silver, passenger vehicle.
The two suspects attempted to make off with $4,250 worth of merchandise. Security workers at the store were able to recover the items, however, the sheriff's office is still searching for the two.

Male suspect: Thin build, was wearing a white MSU ball cap.
Female suspect: Blonde hair, was wearing a red shirt.
