LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A 14-year-old was arrested Monday after police said he shoplifted from a Walmart in Lincoln and led officers on a chase.
Lincoln Police said officers responded to the Walmart on 27th and Superior streets around 5:30 p.m. on a report of a teenager waving a gun at employees. Officers arrested the teenager after he reportedly led them on a foot pursuit.
Despite the initial report of a gun, LPD said no weapon was recovered on scene.
LPD said the teenager had stolen several water guns and other toys from Walmart, all of which were recovered.
The 14-year-old boy was cited for three misdemeanors: resisting arrest, obstructing a police officer and theft by shoplifting $0-$500. He was taken to the Youth Detention Center before being released to his parents.
