CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - Walmart will be removing self-checkout lines in its Cleveland store starting Sunday, according to a corporate spokesperson.
The chain’s Steelyard Commons store, located at 4300 Steelyard Drive, will be converted from self-checkout lanes to staffed checkout lanes, according to company officials.
“The decision was based on several factors, including feedback from associates and customers, shopping patterns and business needs in this area,” the company said in a statement. “We believe the change will improve the in-store shopping experience and give our associates the chance to provide more personalized and efficient service.”
The company confirms the process will begin April 7 and will take approximately two weeks to complete.
