Walmart has announced another store closure.
The Walmart location at 2753 East Eastland Center Drive, West Covina, California will close March 29, according to a report in the San Gabriel Valley Tribune.
“This decision was not made lightly and was reached only after a careful and thoughtful review process,” a spokesperson for the Arkansas-based company told the newspaper. “We have nearly 5,000 stores across the U.S. and unfortunately some do not meet our financial expectations.”
All 237 workers at the West Covina location will be paid through May 31 and are eligible for transfer to the 16 other Walmart stores in the area, according to the statement.

The West Covina location is the third Walmart store to close in California this year, following a Walmart Neighborhood Market in San Diego and a Walmart store in El Cajon, California. The West Covina store opened in 2012.
Last year, Walmart closed 20 stores across 11 states, including four in Chicago, due to poor financial performance.
There are plans for store openings, however.
Earlier this year, the nation’s largest retailer announced plans to build or convert more than 150 large-format stores in the next five years. Two new stores, both Neighborhood Markets, are set to open this spring in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida and Atlanta. Construction on 12 other new projects will start later this year and one smaller Walmart store will be converted to a Supercenter, though none of the locations for the work have been announced.
Walmart currently has about 4,600 stores across the country, employing some 1.6 million people across its U.S. operations.
