L. NAZARETH TWP., Pa. — Police are investigating a fight that briefly closed a Walmart Supercenter in Northampton County on Saturday afternoon.
According to Colonial Regional Police, officers were dispatched to the Northampton Crossings store in Lower Nazareth Township around 2:03 p.m. Police said they received report of a "fight in progress" that possibly involved a gun.
Upon arriving at the scene, police determined that the altercation had been between three people — two of whom left the store before officers arrived. The third person was treated for his injuries and later released, police said.
Police said gun was recovered at the scene, but there was no indication it had been fired.
According to police, the incident caused Walmart to be closed between 2:15 and 2:45 p.m. Officers had cleared the building by 3 p.m. and the store reopened, police said.
Police say there is no threat to the public. They plan to obtain "video and photographic evidence" of the incident — and then release that evidence to seek the public's help to identify the two outstanding suspects.
The incident remains under investigation.
