One person was injured in a fight at a Walmart in Central New York, according to reports.
WKTV reports a fight broke out at the Walmart Supercenter in Rome, N.Y., just before closing time on Tuesday night. Two males and two females were involved in the altercation around 10:45 p.m. in the store’s food section, according to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office.
Walmart employees said the two men started arguing with each other when one man pulled a knife out. The other man then picked up a bottle and threw it, hitting the man with the knife.
Both men then started throwing bottles and cans at each other until being separated by store employees. One of them suffered a cut that was non-life threatening, according to sheriff’s deputies; he refused medical treatment. No stabbing occurred in the incident, deputies said after reviewing security footage.
All parties involved left before sheriff’s deputies arrived at the scene, but were later located in Rome with the assistance of New York State Police and Rome Police. The subjects were uncooperative and refused to answer questions, according to NewsChannel 9 WSYR.
No arrests have been made due to a lack of cooperation, the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office said. No other details about the subjects were released.
Anyone who was in the store at the time of the incident is asked to call investigators at 315-765-2226.
