According to Statista, holiday retail sales are anticipated to reach $957 billion this year, with many Americans choosing to make last-minute purchases in the days leading up to Christmas.

Most Walmart stores are open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. local time on Christmas Eve, but make sure to get everything you need then because the retail giant actually closes all stores on Christmas Day.
Target
Target has extended its hours from 7 a.m. through midnight at most locations through December 23 to help last-minute shoppers find their gifts even in the final days leading up to Christmas.
On Christmas Eve, the store reverts to a 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. schedule, with fast-order pickups available until 6 p.m. that evening. Target will also offer same-day shipping until 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
CVS
CVS and its pharmacy will remain open for shoppers from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Christmas Eve. That means it is a top spot for those on the lookout for any last-minute gifts or wrapping essentials along with sudden medication needs.
On Christmas Day, CVS will also be open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Walgreens
Walgreens will also be serving customers during regular hours on Christmas Eve. On Christmas Day, stores will also operate on regular hours, starting at 10 a.m. local time.
You should verify with your local store's pharmacy to see if they will be working at reduced hours.
Costco
Costco stores are all closed on Christmas Day but will still be around to serve your pre-Christmas needs on the holiday's eve.
Just make your last shopping trip early because the retailer plans to close all shops at 5 p.m. local time.
Retail Stores Open on Christmas Eve
It's common to get some final holiday shopping in before Christmas Day, but not all retail stores remain open throughout Christmas Eve.
Fashion retailer Abercrombie & Fitch will remain open until 6 p.m. on Christmas Eve before closing on Christmas Day, according to Women's Wear Daily.
Banana Republic and its Gap subsidiaries will remain open on Christmas Eve as well, with hours varying depending on the store.
Those shopping for the book lover in their life might want to make a last-minute gift run to Barnes and Noble. Luckily for shoppers, the store will operate on Christmas Eve but at reduced hours, with most stores closing at 6 p.m. local time.
Best Buy also remains open on Christmas Eve, closing at 6 p.m. before shutting down operations on Christmas Day. You should call your local store to confirm the specific hours of operation, however.
Kohl's will be welcoming shoppers from 8 a.m. to midnight from December 16 to December 23. On Christmas Eve, the hours get a bit more limited, with stores closing at 6 p.m. and then closing altogether for Christmas Day.
If you're looking for last-minute sales at Macy's, you should also make sure to shop at the retailer before 6 p.m. local time on Christmas Eve. All stores will be closed on Christmas Day.
