Phoenix police ID woman found dead near Walmart - The Arizona Republic

Phoenix Police Department identified the woman found dead near a Walmart Supercenter in west Phoenix on Monday afternoon as Erika Gerardo, 37, police said.

At about 3 p.m., Phoenix police responded to a shopping center near 75th Avenue and McDowell Road regarding a body that was found, officials said. When officers arrived, they found Gerardo unconscious with injuries.

Police pronounced Gerardo dead at the scene.

Police said detectives were investigating the incident. Details of Gerardo's injuries will be determined by the Office of the Medical Examiner, according to police.

Phoenix Police Department asked anyone with information to call Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS or 480-TESTIGO and provide an anonymous tip.
