Person dressed as a cowboy with fake gun caused evacuation at CNY Walmart - syracuse.com

Seneca Falls, N.Y. - - A Walmart store was evacuated and police were called Sunday after store managers saw a person in a cowboy outfit with a gun strapped to their leg, a news release from Seneca Falls Police Department said.

After a search of the store, review of security footage and an interview with what police called the “Cowboy,” police determined the gun was fake, the release said. The store reopened shortly after, police said.

The person had attended a nearby event dressed as an Old West cowboy, police said.

Seneca Falls Police are reminding the public to “exercise caution and consider the potential impact of their actions, even in the context of costumes or themed attire.”
