Vanessa (@vanessa.k6) shared the video with over 90,000 TikTok followers.

She explained that she purchased the 26-foot pool from Walmart for $1300.

To begin the transformation, her backyard had to undergo $1300 worth of dirt work to prep for the pool's retaining wall.

"Next were the pavers and these were a lot more than I expected, we used a total of 245 blocks which totaled out to about $600," she said.

"Then we rented this compactor for $130 for the day and used insulation boards for the bottom of the pool and that was about $450," she continued.

Next came 96 bags of rocks to place around the boards, which totaled $650.

Pavers and an upgraded pump cost an extra $200.

"It doesn't stop there, don't forget to purchase your pull chemicals, we're about $600 in right now for that stuff," she said.

"It's safe to say we're about $6,000 dollars into this backyard project, I definitely think it was worth it because it's a lot cheaper than an underground pool," she said.

People took to the comments to share their thoughts.

Many were impressed with the amount of work that went into the transformation.

"This looks so good, we’re planning to do above ground as well until we can get an in-ground," said one commenter.

"I have an underground pool and it was almost 70k," agreed another commenter.

"I agree way cheaper than the underground pool, and looks amazing!!" said a third.
