FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP - Months in the making, Walmart has unveiled the $7 million makeover of its West Main Street supercenter.
"During the remodel, our customers saw the progress and we're excited for the changes at this location," William Cardona, the store's manager, during a ceremony Friday morning.
The improvements included renovations to the front of the store, including new checkout areas and a grab-and-go section. There also were upgrades to the pharmacy, the online pickup area, vision center, along with a reconfigured store layout, and new signage, displays and shelves throughout the store. The store also was painted and its floor was polished.
During the grand opening, Cardona presented a total of $5,000 in grants to several local organizations: $1,500 to the Veterans Community Alliance; $1,500 to Freehold Township High School; and $2,000 to Food Stock.
