NJ teens charged after attempted carjacking in Walmart parking lot: Report - SILive.com

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — They should have stayed home to play “Grand Theft Auto” instead of allegedly trying to commit it.

Three New Jersey teens are facing charges after allegedly attempting to carjack a woman in the parking lot of a Walmart in Cherry Hill late Monday night, according to story by Advance/SILive.com sister site NJ.com.

Police say the teens — ages 13, 14 and 15 — allegedly tried to order the woman out of the car. One of the teens displayed a handgun, the report said.

However, the woman refused to exit her vehicle and was able to drive away while contacting police. The driver was not injured during the incident.

The three teens were later found by in the vicinity of the Walmart and arrested. A gun was discovered by a K-9 unit sometime later, the report said.

The teens were charged with carjacking, conspiracy and weapons offenses, the report went on to say.
