However none of the fish were listed under the pesto's ingredients, which has lead many to believe that it's likely the sauce was simply made in the same factory as other products that use seafood and that the warning was put on as a precaution.

'It's a cross-contamination warning. It's a legal requirement to list hazardous allergens that share facilities, even if not sharing equipment,' one person wrote.

'It's just a [cover your a**] for seafood allergies. They must produce seafood products in the same factory, or maybe even on the same machine,' someone else said.

Another user added: 'If it's made in a facility that also makes some thing with those, they have to add it especially because they're high allergy foods.

Paden previously went viral on the app for sharing other popular items that he found around the store that contain similar warnings about fish on their labels - including maple syrup, soy sauce, Worcester sauce, and marshmallows.

He also posted a video analyzing the ingredients in Mission's garden spinach herb-flavored wraps, and it got more than 1.2 million views.

In it, he revealed that the wraps didn't have any actual spinach in them - just spinach powder - and the realization left many people on the web outraged.

'Our food is so bad for no reason,' one disgruntled viewer commented, while another asked, 'Why do they need to add dye to everything?'

He also pointed out that blue and yellow food dyes were added to make the wraps appear more green.

'The green coloring tricks people into thinking it’s healthier so they buy it,' someone else added.

'Imagine how easy it would be to just make it with spinach,' a third comment read, while a fourth said, 'The more I learn about processed food the more nervous I get.'
