The Walmart location at 1000 Town Center Drive on the west side of York announced that it will close temporarily in order to sanitize the store and restock shelves due to an increase in positive COVID-19 cases.
It’s a move that is taking place in spots around the country where COVID-19 cases are rising to assist health officials in working against the pandemic, the company said in a statement.
Located in the West Manchester Town Center, the store closed at 2 p.m. today and is expected to reopen at 6 a.m. Saturday.
“Everything we’re doing is for the well-being of our associates and the thousands of customers we serve daily, and in consideration of guidance by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and health experts,” the store said in its statement.
Walmart officials said when the store reopens that the company will “continue conducting associate health assessments, and all unvaccinated associates must still wear face coverings.”
