Let’s face it – 2021 needs all the good luck it can get. So, to get a jump start plenty of people will make sure to eat black eyed peas and greens next year, both of which are traditionally thought to bring prosperity – peas for coins and greens for dollars – in the new year.

But what do you do if you wake up on Jan. 1, 2021 and realize you forgot to buy either peas or greens? You’re not out of luck. All you have to do is visit your favorite Walmart location.

Walmart is open on New Year’s Day 2021. In general, stores will open at 7 a.m. and close at 10 or 11 p.m. local time. Even better, there are plenty of sales going on if you want to get some shopping done. Some services such as the vision center or pharmacy may be on holiday schedules to check ahead.

Walmart Plus

Another perk in the new year is Walmart Plus, the retailer’s program that makes shopping a little easier. Walmart Plus membership costs $12.95 a month of $98 a year. Among its perks are free next-day and two-day shipping on items from Walmart.com with no minimum order and free delivery on groceries and more from your local store. There’s a $35 minimum order for the free delivery.

Other perks include member prices on fuel and mobile scan and go when shopping.
