Pico Rivera’s Walmart Supercenter at 8500 Washington Blvd. will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday, Dec. 16 and 17, for a “company-initiated program to have the location deep cleaned,” according to a tweet from the the city of Pico Rivera.
The city says the store will reopen at 7 a.m. on Friday.
It’s unclear why the store needed a deep clean; its phone lines were busy when reporters tried calling on Wednesday afternoon and a corporate spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The location is not on any of the county pages listing businesses with significant coronavirus outbreaks.
