Walmart often matches Amazon’s Prime Day discounts—and vice versa—which means, come Prime Day, you may see some pretty competitive pricing between the two monolithic retailers. We’ve seen it ourselves firsthand, in fact: A few years ago, deputy Deals editor Dan Kim watched the price of the Coway AP-1512HH Mighty air purifier drop lower and lower throughout the day as each store tried to outshine the other. Eventually, when the price felt right (and when the competition seemed to have drawn to an end), he made his purchase and ended up spending $132 (the lowest price we had seen to date). Compared with the first deal the team had spotted that morning, at $185, the 30% drop in price was unbelievable.
Walmart offers many of the same products to improve your space that Amazon does—some notable options include small appliances like air purifiers, air conditioners, and dehumidifiers. With fires around the country driving elevated prices, affordable air purifiers may be hard to come by, but Walmart sells the Coway Airmega 200M, an affordable option that could see deals come Prime Day. Our runner-up air purifier pick, it performs identically to our top pick but consistently costs less—sometimes much less.
Walmart also offers tools and carries many of our picks from Bosch, Dewalt, Milwaukee, and Stanley, but keep an eye on the sellers when browsing tool deals. Walmart hosts third-party sellers, some of which have terrible ratings, so the quality of your experience may depend on how good your seller is.
If you’re looking to improve your outdoor space, Walmart carries our steel patio furniture set pick, and August through October is the time we can usually expect to see patio furniture on sale.
