Police investigating body found in van at Williston Walmart - WCAX

WILLISTON, Vt. (WCAX) Williston Police are investigating Tuesday morning after they say a body was found in the back of a van in the Walmart parking lot.

Police say around 2 a.m. Tuesday they were called to the parking lot to look into an odor coming from a parked vehicle. They say when they arrived they found what appeared to be a body in the back of the white, 1996 Dodge Ram with Arizona plates.

A street sweeper discovered the body. He told our crew that a strong smell was in the area about a week ago.

"This week, being as bad as it was, I decided to walk over near the van and I was able to pinpoint that it was coming from the van. I've smelled a lot of dead animals. It's very similar but a lot worse. Also, that van used to move around daily about four weeks ago. It would move around daily and it's been sitting there three weeks," said Brandon Curtis, who discovered the body.

There were no other immediate details from the police.
