Walmart will temporarily close its store in Garfield on Thursday to sanitize and restock, a Walmart spokesperson told NJ Advance Media.
The decision to temporarily close the store is out of an abundance of caution so a third-party specialist can sanitize the store, the spokesperson said. The store is located at 174 Passaic St.
Walmart would not say if the store’s one-day closure is related to a case of the coronavirus, or COVID-19. The company said it cannot provide information about people impacted for privacy reasons.
The store is scheduled to reopen at 7 a.m. on Friday, and plans to give all associates health screenings and temperature checks, the spokesperson said. Face masks and gloves will also be provided to associates.
There are currently 71 Walmart stores in New Jersey.
