Online ordering coming to north Hanover Walmart - The Evening Sun

Online grocery ordering is coming to the north Hanover Walmart in 2019.

Walmart announced April 10 that the company is investing $83 million into store improvements at 15 Walmarts across Pennsylvania, and the north Hanover Walmart, 495 Eisenhower Dr., will be one of the many seeing changes, according to a press release.

The online grocery shopping allows customers to order and pay for all their groceries online. Then they can pick up the groceries from Walmart without getting out of the car, at no extra cost.

In addition to the online ordering, the north Hanover Walmart will get a fresh coat of paint; new, easy-to-read, electronic signs; and the store will also take a look at the aisle sizes to make them more navigable.  

Other changes include:

• Moving the photo lab to make space for a lounge area for customers, creating a space for moms to breastfeed, for example;
• Improvements to fitting rooms;
• Expanding the self checkout stations.

“Combined with skills-based training support for associates, including the use of virtual reality to simulate real-world scenarios, Walmart is redefining the retail experience for all Pennsylvania customers and creating a one-of-a-kind shopping experience that helps our customers live better by providing unmatched value and industry-leading convenience,” said Ann-Louise Almeida, the Walmart regional manager for Pennsylvania.

The company hasn't announced a timeline of when the remodeling will take place, however, it will start this year and can take up to three months to complete, according to Walmart. 

The remodeling won't affect the shopping hours of the Walmart and some areas might be shifted during this process.
