Man accused of exposing himself to girl at Dallas Walmart claimed he'd done it before, police say - Dallas News

Matthew Cruz, 21, has been charged with one count of indecency with a child by exposure.

Authorities were called about 10:30 p.m. to the Walmart at North Cockrell Hill Road and Interstate 30 by a deputy working at the west Oak Cliff store who had detained Cruz.

The girl's mother told officers that her 10-year-old daughter wasn't in her line of sight at the time of the incident but she had heard her screaming — something she had told the girl to do if she was ever hurt or something bad had happened, according to an arrest warrant affidavit. The woman yelled back and they were able to find each other.

An officer then spoke to the girl, who was "visibly shaken up" and still crying. She said that Cruz had exposed his penis, then followed her and said, "Come here or I am going to hurt you," as she ran away, the affidavit says.

A witness also told police that he had seen the girl running out of an aisle, with Cruz, who was smiling, giving chase.
