Crookston police investigating incident at Walmart after video surfaces - Valley News Live

CROOKSTON, M.N. - (Valley News Live) A customer at a Minnesota Walmart shot video of an employee slapping his cell phone to the ground as he's recording her.

The incident happened at the Walmart Supercenter in Crookston, Minnesota on Sunday at around 6:20 p.m., according to Joshua Baatz.

Baatz told us he was accused of stealing as he was leaving the store. He claimed the Walmart employee went through his bag without his permission.

He said the employee called him an idiot and slapped his phone, which was all caught on video.

The Crookston Police Department told us officers are investigating the incident, yet refused to release any information on what led up to it.

An employee at the Crookston Walmart store told us they have no comment on the video.

Walmart’s office of corporate communications also didn’t immediately respond to our request for comment.
