PRINCE EDWARD ISLAND, Canada (WTHR) — A Canadian woman is putting smiles on Walmart shoppers' faces as she greets them in song for their holiday shopping.
Sue Pitre likes to share her holiday cheer with shoppers as they look for the perfect gifts.
"They laugh, they smile, they dance, they sing along with me," Pitre said. "It warms their spirits if they're having a bad day, they just hear me singing live and it just makes their shopping much more presentable."
It's Pitre's first Christmas as a Walmart greeter, but her act started last year when she was a custodian.
"I would just sing along the aisles over here in produce, and people could hear me in aisle one, aisle two. They could hear me all around," she said. "They love it and they think it's the radio."
Pitre's singing has brought on hugs, high fives, and recognition from many, and even personal connections with a few. She plans to keep her songs going through Christmas, but after that she'll dial it back.
But a big music fan like her can't give it up completely. Pitre said she may still sing the occasional song for customers to hear.
