Walmart launches legal education scholarship for under-represented groups

Walmart Inc. WMT, -0.75% has partnered with the Council on Legal Education Opportunity Inc. (CLEO) to launch a scholarship to increase access to legal education among under-represented groups, minorities and low-income adults. The Walmart legal department has made a $100,000 grant to CLEO to help students attend the organization's pre-law summer institute in 2019, and provide support through law school. Walmart shares are down 9.6% for the year to date while the Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, +0.02% is up 2.8% for the period.
