Elkhart police identify victim in Walmart shooting

ELKHART, Ind. (WNDU) - Elkhart police have identified the victim who was shot Tuesday night in the parking lot of a Walmart store.

It happened at 10:37 p.m. at the Walmart on County Road 6 West.

Police say 36-year-old David Holland was in the parking lot with the suspect, who is also an acquaintance, when the suspect fired a gun.

The Holland was shot and taken to Memorial Hospital of South Bend. His injuries appear to be non-life threatening.

The only description of the suspect is that he is a male and left the area in an SUV.
