A couple turned themselves in after being caught red-handed stealing from a Pennsylvania Walmart and then fleeing on electric scooters.
Robert Doerwald and Dawn Hosie are accused of swiping a credit card and money from a woman’s lost purse on Jan. 4 and then escaping from the scene on electric scooters, WNEP-TV reported.
After police released security footage of the pair exiting the Honesdale Walmart, they turned themselves in to state police on Monday.
“I never do stuff like this. I don’t know what came over me that day,” Hosie told WNEP-TV. “I know I wouldn’t want it done to me.”
Doerwald and Hosie are also accused of using the victim’s credit card to make purchases at another Walmart and a McDonald’s.
Charges against the pair are pending.
