NORTH EAST — Police are seeking two men who held up the Walmart Supercenter at gunpoint early Friday morning.
Cecil County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the Walmart, located in the unit block of Northeast Plaza Shopping Center, for a reported armed robbery at 3:30 a.m. Friday.
The investigation revealed that two black men entered the store from the front entrance and walked around the store for a period of time before arriving at the electronics department.
It was there that one of the suspects displayed a handgun to an employee while demanding electronic equipment, police reported. The suspects then took an undisclosed amount of electronic equipment and left the store through the main entrance.
In a surveillance photo released by the sheriff’s office, one suspect is seen wearing a dark gray zip-up jacket and light gray sweatpants with a red beanie hat while the other is wearing a red hoodie sweatshit — possibly with the St. Joseph’s University Hawk on it — black pants and a black hat.
The suspects were observed leaving the parking lot in a dark-colored passenger vehicle. The vehicle was last seen leaving the shopping plaza and heading northbound on Route 272.
The sheriff’s office was able to obtain surveillance video from the incident and is reviewing it for more clues, said Lt. Michael Holmes, CCSO spokesman.
