Police evacuated the Lebanon Walmart late Wednesday evening and secured it with long guns after a man with a gun entered the store, according to reports.
A message posted on the Facebook page of the Lebanon Police Department at about 10:30 p.m. said that the situation was not an active shooter situation.
"No shots have been fired and there are no known injuries at this time," the statement said.
The statement said that Lebanon officers were at the scene "taking extra precautions and investigating an incident."
Shopper Cassie Richey told the Democrat-Herald she was in the checkout line at about 9:20 p.m. when a voice over the intercom ordered everyone out of the store.
"Walking out with the employees, they said an employee's ex showed up with a gun," she wrote in a Facebook message.
Richey said the Oregon State Police, Lebanon Police Department, Linn County Sheriff's Office and a police canine unit were on the scene. A cellphone video showed officers searching vehicles in the parking lot.
At 10:15, Richey said police moved her and about 30 others to the nearby Carl's Jr. and deployed an officer to guard the door.
No further details were available at press time. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
