Georgetown police looking for man after shooting at Walmart on Black Friday

An Andrews man is wanted for attempted murder after a shooting at a Georgetown Walmart on Friday, Nov. 24, according to the Georgetown Police Department.

Alfonzo Lamont Giles is wanted for attempted murder, possession of a deadly weapon during a violent crime and kidnapping, the release said.

He's wanted in connection with a shooting that happened at around 3 a.m. on Black Friday in the Walmart parking lot, the department said.

The victim told officers he was involved in a verbal altercation with a man, later identified by police as Giles, at the Sonoco gas station on North Fraser Street, according to officials.

The victim said he left the Sonoco and drove over to the Walmart parking lot, where he was confronted by the man again and a "physical altercation took place," according to police.

The suspect then fired two shots into the man's vehicle, hitting him once, police said.

The victim drove himself to the hospital. His wound was described in the news release as non-life threatening.

If anyone has information on Giles they are asked to call the Georgetown Police Department at 843-545-4300, the TIP LINE at 843-545-4400 or by calling 911.

Another Andrews man, Joseph Lee Green, was also wanted by police in connection with this incident. Police say he turned himself in on Monday morning and has been booked into the Georgetown Counrty Detention Center on kidnapping charges.
