STAFFORD - A 61-year-old woman suffered "serious injury" when a pickup truck hit her on Route 72, police said.
German Gomez-Sanchez, 22, of the Manahawkin section of town "was traveling through the parking lot in a 1999 Dodge Ram pickup truck when he ran over" the woman, according to a prepared statement from police Lt. James Vaughn.
Police withheld the woman's name in order to notify her family first.
"The pedestrian was transported to Atlantic City Trauma Center for treatment," Vaughn said. "Motor vehicle charges are pending against Sanchez."
Police are investigating, Vaughn said.
