Walmart may team with Lord & Taylor to take on Amazon. The Wall Street Journal says the world's biggest retailer is near a deal with Lord & Taylor that would give the department store dedicated space on walmart.com. Walmart is seeking to build an anti-Amazon coalition as it begins to ramp up e-commerce sales after several years of sluggish growth.

General Motors has agreed to pay $120 million to resolve claims from 49 states and the District of Columbia over faulty ignition switches. GM had already paid about $2.5 billion in penalties and settlements over faulty ignition switches that could cause engines to stall and prevent airbags from deploying in crashes. The defect has been linked to 124 deaths and 275 injuries,

Companies like Mars have paid for studies that show chocolate is good for your heart and circulatory system. Vox reported that that while specific compounds in chocolate are linked to improved health, these effects are less pronounced in studies that aren't funded by the candy industry.
